Brief
Li Yongzheng was born in Bazhong, Sichuan, and received his art education at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and Southwest University, later pursuing studies in sociology at Sichuan University. He currently lives and works in Chengdu.
In his practice—whether performance, installation, video, or long-term participatory projects—there is a consistent intention to begin from the depths of lived experience. He carefully considers the context and site in which his works are produced, and within the forms of his installations he repeatedly examines the history and cultural sources of materials. Recognized as an important representative artist in China’s Mobile Internet Era, his work addresses the profound impact of digital media on individual experience and social culture.
